"This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. At a time like this, finding myself in a place I’ve never been before, I need to do something I’ve never done. As each thought and belief cross each other in my mind, both inspiring and intimidating, this one idea seems to sink to the core of it all – I want to sit in silence. Let it float. Sink into this very instant and break away from every moment that has carried me to this unusual point.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

When all is said and done, there are no mistakes to consider, and no lessons to take. All that remains is this sensation, in this very moment. This awakening of my nude mind, and fresh freedom to be filled. Filled with what? That is for me to decide – but that I will do, after my silence, after I am done relaxing.

Religion is not just some dry intellectual idea but rather your basic philosophy of life: you hear a teaching that makes sense to you, find through experience that it relates positively with your psychological makeup, get a real taste of it through practice, and adopt it as your spiritual path. That's the right way to enter the spiritual path.

When Buddha spoke about suffering, he wasn't referring simply to superficial problems like illness and injury, but to the fact that the dissatisfied nature of the mind itself is suffering. No matter how much of something you get, it never satisfies your desire for better or more. This unceasing desire is suffering; its nature is emotional frustration.
