until then (in memory of...)

In the past few days, heartache has travelled throughout the world as we’ve all learned about the school shooting in Connecticut. There have been numerous tragedies that have happened in 2012 which have turned all our stomachs, made us question our beliefs, and made it almost impossible to hope for a better future. This, by far, hit home the worst for me. Watching my niece and nephew over dinner yesterday, how beautifully innocent they are. How delicate and vulnerable. They are the most wonderful, heartwarming gifts my family has ever been given. We all can’t hide the reality behind this awful event. These children have been taken away, from a place where they were promised a lifetime of opportunities, trips, friends, family, and most of all, the promise of discovering themselves.

I’ve reached into the core of me to try and figure out what will get parents through their heartache. Will it be time? Will it be God? Whatever it may be, it is our job, as humanity - to pray. We need to lift their spirits through energy and open all closed eyes. Yes, this is a scary, unpredictable world, but we can't run or hide. The world will not end unsatisfied. So lift your hopes and remember there is so much beauty ahead of us. Eternity exists well beyond our understanding. When we are ready to learn, it will be these very children, the ones we feel deserved the most, who will show us all the answers to everything. Who will lead us to heal ourselves and cleanse our minds. These Angels will wait for us, patiently, and with open arms. It is our job to be human until then. - MF
